Farewell to our Leavers
- Last Updated on 28 July 2013
Our year 6 children celebrated their last day at Shelford School with a special Leavers' service in St Mary's Church where they shared their memories of and gave thanks for their time at Shelford School. The traditional presentation of Bibles was made; a gift for them to keep and remember the Christian ethos and values they have grown up with at Shelford School. Year 6 parents, Governors and specially invited guests joined the whole school for this service. After the solemnity of the service, the day continued for year 6 as they tucked into their favourite lunch sitting at 'top table' in the hall and enjoyed a swimming session in the afternoon. They finished their day visiting other classes, getting their t-shirts and Year Books signed, with some shedding a few tears, as they said their goodbyes.
Farewell too to those children lower down the school who are moving on and also to Mr Elwood who will be starting a new job at Orchard Park Primary School.
We wish them all well.
